Field Trip to Taiping (Part 1)

I already knew they would arrive in the morning but i decided to take my chances. I slept late at nite yesterday after watching ER and slept thru the morning. But suddenly, i was awoken by my brother's shouting that they are here ady. I quickly rushed off the bed to greet them with my sleepy eyes. I managed a few "hi"s and ran off to get ready for the field trip to Taiping. My aunt and my cousins from Kepong came over today on a 2 day 1 nite trip to Taiping to visit us and have some Taiping sorta fun.
The first place we went to was a Hindu temple in the outskirts of Taiping. It's called Ayanaar Temple and i have no idea the name of the place it is in unless i ask my father lol. After walking around the temple area, we went over to see the Bukit Merah dam. There, we were just relaxing under the shady trees while watching a few fishermen fishing in the rapid water. By noon, we decided to grab lunch at the Pusat Makanan Taman Tasik coz it's nearer to well, Taman Tasik of course lol. After munching on some Chinese delicacies, we walked over to the Lake Gardens, which was just across the road. We were at this sorta like a rest area along the walkway near the jetty overlooking the lake, when it started to drizzle.

Bad hair day...

We were hoping that it'd stop so we quickly headed to the Burmese Pool which was a bit nearby as well. We went so high up the hill until my aunt cannot walk ady lol. But good thing by the time we've reached the place we wanted. But unfortunately, the rain got heavier and we had to take shelter under the umbrella on our way down. From there we headed home to rest and have tea.
Soon after, by 6pm we were headed to Lake Gardens again. This time we were equipped with fish food pellets to be fed to the fishes in the lakes there. We just walked slowly along the pathway and bridges while feeding the fishes. It's been a few years since i last came to Lake Gardens to feed fishes and i have to say, their numbers have diminished drastically.

After walking around a bit more, we headed to Taiping Zoo to wait for another car of my uncle, aunt and cousins from Klang. My dad asked me to park the car in the zoo parking lot and i was a bit nervous but it turned out okay. By 7.30pm my uncle arrived. We had to wait till 8pm to get into the Night Safari. Our family was the first in line to get the tickets haha. We got into the first tram as well. The notice board outside specifically mentioned no flash cameras beyond the entrance but we all still managed to smuggle in our cameras haha. In the zoo we managed to catch glimpses of many animals that were active or still awake. The most active would be the owles. They were all looking at the passing by trams and people in it. By the time the tram ride ended, there was still a bit of ground to walk before reaching the exit. There was this aquarium-like lake that was full of fat (touch wood) Japanese Carps and Arowanas. Huhu i was so sad i didnt sneak in some fish food from earlier. Before exitting was the elepant cage. There i managed to capture my one and only image throughout the whole Night Safari. I took it in night mode and it was majorly not clear.

After the safari, we headed to a seafood restaurant exactly beside the place we had our lunch earlier called Restoran Makanan Laut Bintang. It was full of the EPL finals foootball match of MU vs Arsenal watchers. We sat in a table added with wooden panel coz there were 13 of us. When asked wat was the fish specialty from that restaurant, they said curry fish. I remember from Keong's entry abt the curry fish he had when he went for dinner. Lol but curry is like a staple thing, we went ahead with the sweet and sour steamed fish instead.

After dinner, we went to the infamous 'Pig Temple'. It was my first time there and the place totally gave me the creeps. I didnt go inside the temple and just waited outside taking pics of the wildboars. They were literally everywhere. From the size of a cat to a skuter, all sizes of boars were there. The temple was acceli built there first but later on started getting visits from local boars that seemed unusually tame. That's y people started hoarding the place.

After praying and stuff, of the 3 cars, one car was boarded by people who wanted to go home to sleep. Meanwhile the other 2 was all set for a night of bowling hehe. We went to the Winner's Bowling Alley in the Taiping Plaza and bowled for 2 rounds in 2 lanes coz there 8 of us.
